CBR MIDWEST REDEFINES "CHOICE" IN DC
The Genocide Awareness Project (GAP) was augmented by CBR’s “Choice” trucks in a display along the parade route on the way to the US Capitol. This year’s location gave CBR even more exposure to the marchers and DC citizens than in prior years. We remain convinced that this venue is one our best outreaches of the year because of the thousands of young people who, many for the first time, see abortion. It is likely that more babies are saved and future parents are rescued at this event than any other CBR event. We receive emails often throughout the year from students who first came in touch with our ministry from the March for Life.

On Jan. 23, 2006 CBR Midwest made its annual pilgrimage to Washington DC. CBR’s presence had added meaning because of the debate over abortion in the Senate Judiciary Committee over Samuel Alito. On Jan. 24th Judge Samuel Alito was confirmed to the US Supreme Court to replace Sandra Day O'Connor.
From the CBR Mailbag:
I have 2 children and am pregnant with my third and I was thinking of having an abortion because I did not know the truth. Now I am happy about having my baby and waiting anxiously to have my baby in my arms. 24 year old female from Pasco, WA
I was going to get an abortion with my son, when I wasn't very far along, but looking at these pictures, how far along you are doesn't matter at all! 22 year old female from Sullivan, MO
This website changed my mind and I am having my baby. 33 year old female from Sheffield, England
I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and I was thinking about getting an abortion due to my age and what my family might think, but after looking on this web site I think I might have changed my mind. 17 year old female Corona, NY
I am a 22 year old single mom of two girls and I am pregnant again. The father has already left and I was considering abortion just so I could make it go away. The pictures on your web site look no different than my two little ones, except they're smaller. I can't do it. 22 female from Mobile, AL
The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. CBR Midwest needs to hire more staff. Send more money if you want to save more babies!
CBR Midwest Leads Charge on Abortion Ban
The Ohio Abortion Ban enjoyed widespread media coverage on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade:
From the Associated Press
"It is time to return the abortion issue to the states," said Mark Harrington, executive director of the Center for Bio Ethical Reform Midwest and a supporter of the proposed Ohio ban. This quote made its way into several daily newspapers nationwide on the anniversary of Roe.
From the Cincinnati Enquirer
Mark Harrington, executive director for the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform Midwest, called Rep. Brinkman's bill a test case. "House Bill 228 provides the necessary constitutional challenge to strike down Roe versus Wade," Harrington said. "It will immediately be challenged in the courts, and that's the strategy. House Bill 228 is a trigger law. The U.S. Supreme Court needs a law to trigger a review of Roe versus Wade."

CBR Midwest’s Paul Troiani Trains Youth at American Collegians for Life Conference
Prior to the 33rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade the American Collegians for Life (ACL) held their 19th conference. ACL is a pro-life, student-run, non-profit organization, and their sole purpose is to equip pro-life university students with the resources and information necessary for an effective pro-life presence on campus.
CBR was privileged to have a featured spot at this DC conference where our message was delivered to over 150 students.
Here is the proof that CBR presentations are persuasive:
The speaker made solid, simple, effective points about social issues and social change in relation to media. The history of social change through photographs and the circumstances around them was a sure way to illustrate why images are key and what they are capable of doing. 20 year old female, sophomore at James Madison University
Wow! I’ve seen images before, but the video was absolutely horrible. I think it’s good that it was shown, but it was just awful. The presentation as a whole was well done and powerful. 19 year old female, sophomore at Villanova University.
I was hesitant about bringing GAP on campus because of the way people would react. I felt they would be more turned off than turned on. I now see how important it is to bring onto campus. 21 year old female, senior at Villanova University
I found it to be very effective. I was on the fence about the use of images, especially when most images are used in public areas but I now believe it to be a good and necessary thing to do. 19 year old female, sophomore at Boston College
Our need for financial support increases as we become more effective in changing the debate on abortion. Please sacrifice financially to support us. We need you now!
