It didn't take long for students at Eastern Michigan University (located in Ypsilanti) to make our visit the talk of campus. CBR volunteers Robert and Dante join CBR staffer Michael Spielman in fielding questions from an inquisitive crowd. This EMU student takes a break from his normal studies to consider what is likely a much more significant subject, as laid out in our brochure, "Why Abortion is Genocide". CBR's visit was again thoroughly peaceful despite big crowds and heated debate. The EMU police helped ensure our success.
Lois Cunningham, CBR's Director of Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, speaks with an EMU student. We handed out a huge amount of literature at EMU and found a remarkable number of interested and reasonable students. Glen, Gary and Robert offer some CBR posters to interested students. This exchange between CBR Director Gregg Cunningham and a highly agitated student continued long after the display had come down.
CBR's Greg Davis offers a Jewish perspective to interested EMU students. This EMU student suddenly had a host of classmates interested in discussing abortion with him since GAP offers pro-life students an unparralleled forum for reaching their campus. Susan Dammann (right), from the Ohio office,.and a local volunteer help education students about abortion. Despite relatively small quarters, CBR's second level of signs ensured that our images would be seen above the swelling crowds.
Leon and Gary offer literature to EMU students. Michael Spielman, of CBR's California office, had many great opportunities to speak with large number of students. Facing the student union, the front corner of our exhibit received steady traffic both days of our visit. Though this group of protestors had some very creative signs, they could muster little in terms of actual dialogue.
