How to turn a lawn into a lecture hall. Two kids to whom the pro-aborts will have difficulty telling lies. Oregon State produced some of the largest and most constructive discussion groups we have seen anywhere. Perhaps some day the country will be able to discuss abortion without the necessity of barricades.
CBR can now use GAP to rewrite the curriculum at any public university we choose. What is it that the bed sheet bunch was so desperate to cover up? The bed sheets attracted the curious so effectively that many students actually thought that CBR had brought them in. At one point, the pro-aborts had to write "We Don't Support This" on their sheets. We liked Oregon so well we're going to open an office there.
Our threats to file suit against the university ensured that police pushed linen loonies back to an ineffective distance. At day's end, the signs are coming down, but the crowds linger. Many of the same students came back day after day to talk or just listen. Some students needed to be comforted after seeing the truth.
Our ability to raise our signs high above the bedsheets forced the pro-aborts to abandon the tactic after OSU. What they didn't know was that we can easily go even higher, to a third story level. We leave one sign standing to accommodate the crowds while we load, so the pro-aborts leave one bed sheet in place. An agitated Jewish student later had a useful conversation, one-on-one with CBR director Gregg Cunningham. Without free speech, social reform is impossible.
