Portland State's urban setting brought us into contact with many non-students. Pro-aborts help us draw a crowd with counter protest and vacuous slogans. As is always the case, many passers-by were exceedingly distressed by what they saw. An anarchist riot in this same park three days earlier produced the deployment of mounted riot police and all terrain vehicles to cover GAP. Because this was a very professional force, there was no violence.
Portland State campus security chief and his officers were top notch. CBR staffer who spent two years as a single mom and college student offers insights. Pro-abort faints upon seeing what abortion is and does (only kidding). This is actually pro-abort street theatre. Disabusing passers-by of their misapprehensions.
GAP seldom fails to turn heads. Pro-aborts chalk sidewalk with exhortation to pedestrians: "Don't believe the lies." Thank heaven for visual proof of terrible truth. Which of our many female volunteers are the "sexists" to which pro-abort sidewalk chalk message refers? These pro-aborts act like blind robots. Which of our many female volunteers are the "sexists" to which pro-abort sidewalk chalk message refers? These pro-aborts act like blind robots.
Many serious discussions arose among students themselves. An especially combative street preacher so angered the more militant pro-aborts that they erected bed sheets around him and left GAP alone. Passers-by stop dead in their tracks. Once again, we were able to secure a prime GAP location between the library and student union.
